Scott Alan Stapp (created August 8, 1973) is an American musician and singer songwriter. He was likewise the lead vocalist and lyricist of the rock band Creed, of which he’s a founding member. His debut solo album, “The Great Divide”, was launched in 2005. His second record, “Proof of Life”, premiered on November 5, 2013. In 2006, “Hit Parader” rated Stapp as the 68th finest heavy metal vocalist ever.
Stapp is involved in various philanthropic actions. In 2000, Stapp founded the With Arms Wide Open Foundation, a nonprofit organization “dedicated to helping underprivileged kids and families all over the world.” He’s contributed over US$1 million of his own record sales to support the foundation’s global humanitarian efforts. Stapp additionally performed an acoustic guitar show on board the USS George Washington at the Yokosuka Naval Base for U.S. troops stationed in Japan to thank and express his gratitude for them.
