Thomas Baptiste Morello (created May 30, 1964) is an American guitarist famous for his tenure with all the group Rage Against the Machine and then with Audioslave. Morello is now a touring musician with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. He’s also famous for his acoustic guitar solo act called The Nightwatchman, and his latest group Street Sweeper Social Club.
Produced in Harlem, NY, and raised in Libertyville, Illinois, Tom Morello became interested in music and politics while in high school. After his previous group Lock Up disbanded, Morello met Zack de la Rocha as well as the two founded Rage Against the Machine collectively. The group went to become among the most famous and powerful rock acts of the 1990s. Tom Morello is famous for his distinctive and creative guitar playing style, which includes feedback sound, non-traditional picking and tap along with significant utilization of guitar effects. He was rated number 40 in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.
