Joseph Antionio Cartagena, better known as Fat Joe, was created on August 19, 1970 in the Bronx. After being introduced to rap by his brother, he became greatly affected and eventually pals with fellow Latino colossus Big Pun. After Big Pun’s departure, Fat Joe pad for Pig Pun’s funeral. Fat Joe was inspired to lose over 100lbs after losing his buddy Big Pun to obesity and diabetes associated health problems.
