William Otto (Bill) Harbach (Born October 12, 1919) is an American television producer, director and author. In his television career, spanning the years 1951 through 1979, he won multiple awards, including four Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award Following his years in television, Harbach continued to produce and direct special events, including eight ASCAP celebrations for renowned composers, lyricists and librettists. He is the son of American lyricist, librettist and ASCAP co-founder Otto Abels Harbach.

2Signed by MGM Pictures as a contract player in 1945, until MGM canceled the program in 1948. Returning to New York, having met Kay Thompson at MGM, he became her "aide de camp", managing her nightclub act with the "Williams Brothers". Joining NBC-TV as a film cutter, editing commercial film ads for insertion into programming commercial breaks, Bill remained as an editor for three years. Harbach was promoted as a stage manager, and into directing. When Tonight! (1953) with Steve Allen was initiated, Harbach was working on the show. Allen didn't get along with his first producer and made Harbach his show producer. Kay Thompson was able to get one of her Williams Brothers, Andy Williams, signed as a permanent weekly musical performer on Allen's show.
