His career has been a melange between media productions and theatre ever since. Rumbelow now runs his own production company in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Renegade Motion Pictures.
Steven's son is English actor Dickon Tolson who was born in 1972. Steven had two daughters Marin and Svea who were born in 1989 and 1990 respectively. Marin was killed in an accident in 2004 on the one year anniversary of Steven's mother's death. His Mother, Rita Rumbelow, was a period costume designer who worked on a number of BBC productions. Steven married Rachel Rumbelow in 2006.
