Mannie Fresh is now signed to both Def Jam South and his own office business, Chubby Boy Records. Thomas started adoring music in the age of nine as an area New Orleans DJ, playing tunes at parties and nightclubs. In the late 1980s he started a partnership with New Orleans rapper MC Gregory D. They released their very first record together Throwdown in 1987, with Mannie Fresh making and MC Gregory D rapping. They might release two more records together in the late 1980s and early 1990s. With Williams’s help, Thomas made chart-topping records for the Hot Boys, that was composed of Lil Wayne, B.G., Juvenile, and Turk, making all of the group’s singles. He also made all tracks on the members’ solo works as well. Afterwards, Thomas formed the Big Tymers along with Williams, as Mannie Fresh and Birdman respectively bringing him acclaim, and released five records. In 2005, he separate from Cash Money for monetary motives, and afterwards joined Def Jam South, to which he’s now signed. The record was solely created by Fresh himself and featured notable guests Rick Ross and Lil Jon.
