| 1 | Jules Stein, born February 7, 1927, was known as "Julie" to friends and business associates. After a misspent youth where he grew up in the neighborhood movie palaces of The Bronx, he attended the Manhattan High School of Aviation Trades. He joined the Navy and served on the aircraft carrier USS Roosevelt during World War II. His love of movies led to a career that began in Hollywood at Howard Hughes' RKO Pictures. He moved to United Artists, where Jules traveled the world in their (United Artists) sales department. In 1971 he was appointed Director of International Sales for American International Pictures. Jules loved Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, blackjack, vodka rocks, Jones Beach, and his three children: Richard (Toni), Geri-lyn, and Mathew (Carrie). His grandchildren Natalie, Sarah, Samantha, Joe, Michael, and Zane and two great grandchildren who survive him. Jules Stein passed away peacefully on July 3, 2016. He was 89 years old. A decent man, and a great dad, he made the world a better place just by being in it. |
