Elliot Forbes (August 20, 1917, Cambridge, Massachusetts – January 9, 2006, in Cambridge), known as "El", was an American conductor and musicologist noted for his Beethoven scholarship.
After producer Kroger Babb won a lawsuit against the Chicago Police Censor Board allowing "Mom and Dad" (1945) to be exhibited in Chicago, it was run in 10 theaters in the area. According to Babb, no one ever questioned how "Elliot Forbes" could be on the stage of 10 theaters at the same time.

He was billed as "The Eminent Hygiene Commentator" who delivered a lecture entitled "The Secrets of Sensible Sex" during engagements of "Mom and Dad" (1945). The lecture included a pitch for a book that would be sold to the audience. At the height of its sensation, producer Kroger Babb had over 25 roadshow units working, each with its own "Elliot Forbes."
