In the film Thrashin' (1986), he used music by the Red Hot Chili Peppers (who play a set in the film), Fine Young Cannibals, and The Bangles all before their rise to fame. In his film The Last Horror Film (1982) he used a song by Depeche Mode for the opening credits, after hearing one of their early demos.
