Winford Lindsey Stewart (June 7, 1934 – July 17, 1985), better known as Wynn Stewart, was an American country music performer. He was one of the progenitors of the Bakersfield sound. Although not a huge chart success, he was an inspiration to such greats as Buck Owens and Merle Haggard.
Released "Above and Beyond," which was also a major hit for Buck Owens (1960) and Rodney Crowell (1989).

Had a steady string of hits from the 1950s through 1970s, but his only No. 1 hit on Billboard magazine's country singles chart was "It's Such a Pretty World Today" (1967). Other notable hits included "Wishful Thinking" (1960) and "After the Storm" (1976).

Along with fellow country singers Merle Haggard and Buck Owens, helped to popularize the "Bakersfield Sound," a California-influenced sound of country.
