Tim Wynne-Jones, Template:Post-nominals (born 12 August 1948) is an English–Canadian author of children's literature, including picture books and novels for children and young adults, novels for adults, radio dramas, songs for the CBC/Jim Henson production Fraggle Rock, as well as a children's musical and an opera libretto.For his contribution as a children's writer he was Canada nominee for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 2012.
In 2011, appointed to receive the Order of Canada, one of the country's highest civilian honours.

Graduated from Ridgemont High School, Ottawa in 1967, the University of Waterloo where he earned his Honours B.A. in Fine Arts in 1974, and from York University where he earned his MFA in Visual Arts in 1979.

Has three children with his wife Amanda Lewis: Alexander (Xan), Magdalene (Maddy), and Lewis.
