They also performed and recorded the work of contemporary American composers like Ned Rorem, and renewed interest in the choral works of Charles Ives, William Billings and Victor Herbert. In 1961, they premiered works by Benjamin Britten, Zoltan Kodaly and Francis Poulenc at the Edinburgh Festival. |
