After recording a debut RCA Victor LP entitled "Gichy Dan’s Beechwood # 9", which Rogers and songwriter August Darnell produced together - Rogers composed the words and music to the dance hit Deputy of Love which charted #1 in Billboard magazine for recording artist Don Armando.
