Nat Peck (born January 13, 1925) is an American jazz trombonist.Nat Peck was born in New York City. He played with Glenn Miller (1943–45) and Don Redman (1947) early in his career. After moving to France, where he lived from 1947 to 1951, he attended the Paris Conservatory (1949–51) and played with Coleman Hawkins (1949), James Moody (1949–50), Roy Eldridge, Don Byas and Kenny Clarke (1950). In the 1950s Peck played on television in New York and Paris. In 1953 he recorded with Dizzy Gillespie.Peck returned to France again in the 1960s, playing with Michel Legrand, Léo Ferré, André Hodeir and Duke Ellington. He spent some time in England and Germany, working as a staff musician at Sender Freies Berlin and playing with Quincy Jones and the Clarke-Boland Big Band (1963–69). He relocated to London in 1965, where he became active in the studios, film, and television. He worked with Benny Goodman in 1970–72 and with Peter Herbolzheimer in 1979.Peck had more or less retired by the 1990s, but remained in the music industry as a contractor and promoter.
