Joan Turner was born on November 24, 1922 in Belfast, Ireland as Joan Teresa Turner. She was an actress, known for In Her Shoes (2005), All About the Benjamins (2002) and The Frankie Howerd Show (1953). She died on March 1, 2009 in Banstead, Surrey, England.
In 2004 several British newspapers reported her as living as a bag-lady on the streets of Los Angeles. Her daughter eventually paid for her to return to Britain where she lived in sheltered accommodation in Surrey.
