Johnny Mann was born on August 30, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA as John Russell Mann. He is known for his work on Stand Up and Cheer (1971), The 14th Annual Grammy Awards (1972) and The 15th Annual Grammy Awards (1973). He was married to Betty J. Mann and Lori Nelson. He died on June 18, 2014 in Anderson, South Carolina, USA.
He and his singers have recorded radio jingles for many different radio stations since the 1960s, most notably KHJ and, currently, KRTH-FM in Los Angeles, all the other RKO Top 40 radio stations in the '60s and early '70s, and, currently, many other oldies stations in the U.S.

More than a decade's worth of best-selling albums on Liberty Records (1958-1969) include: "Ballads of the King: The Songs of Sinatra," "Invisible Tears," "We Can Fly!," "Golden Folk Song Hits," and "Great Band with Great Voices," the last with Si Zentner's orchestra.
