Phalon Anton Alexander (created April 25, 1974), professionally called Jazze Pha (/dzi fe/ “JAZ-ee” “FAY”), is an American music producer, songwriter and vocalist from Atlanta, Georgia. He’s the creator and chief executive officer (CEO) of Sho’nuff Records, which American R&B singer songwriter Ciara was signed to.

His dad is James Alexander, bassist for the Barkays, an influential group on the Memphis soul scene in the 1960s. His mom is a vocalist named Denise Williams (to not be mistaken with chart-topping R&B and gospel singer Deniece “Niecy” Williams). Pha was named following the late Phalon Jones, another person in the Bar Kays, who, along with three other Barkays members, was killed in a 1967 plane crash. Pha is notorious for declaring “Ladies and gentlemen” or “This is a Jazze Phizzle generation!”, both at the start and, sometimes, by the end of tunes on which he’s featured. He released his debut record Rising to the Top under his birth name Phalon. He afterwards appeared on Erick Sermon’s 1995 record Double or Nothing. On the record, Pha acts in a skit and raps in a cooperation with Sermon called “Man Above”. Pha additionally played synthesizer on the track. Pha afterwards made on supergroup LSG’s first record, “Let a Playa Get his Freak On,” in 1997. Pha has collaborated using a lot of other artists. Pha helped Ciara start her career as a performer. He made her success 2004 single “1, 2 Step” featuring Missy Elliott. Jazze Pha additionally made Ciara’s tracks “Thug Style”, “Pick Up the Phone”, and “Lookin’ at You”. In 2006, Pha made her hit single “Get Up”, featuring Chamillionaire. The two haven’t worked together since 2006.
