Phyllis Smith (born July 20, 1951) is an American celebrity. Phyllis Smith is famous for playing Phyllis Lapin-Vance on “The Office”. Phyllis Smith graduated from your University of Missouri–St. Louis in 1972 with a degree in elementary education. She was made to stop dancing after suffering a knee injury. She later worked in Hollywood, California as an actress as well as in cast. Smith was employed as a casting associate on The Office when she was offered the part of Phyllis, a character created especially for her; a softspoken saleswoman who tends to differ using the pompous office manager Michael Scott. Phyllis Smith received Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2006 and 2007 for her performance at Work, in the class “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Show”. In June 2008, Smith appeared together with the cast of The Office on Celebrity Family Feud. In 2011, Phyllis Smith played a supporting character in the movie Bad Teacher.
