Ernest Bert Ashworth (December 15, 1928 – March 2, 2009) was an American country music singer and longtime Grand Ole Opry star. Signed to the Hickory label, he recorded two studio albums in his career and charted several singles on Billboard Hot Country Songs, including the number one "Talk Back Trembling Lips" and six other top ten hits.

He signed with Decca Records in 1960, and recorded the hit songs "Each Moment" and "You Can't Pick a Rose in December". In 1962, he went to Hickory Records, where he sang "Everybody But Me" and his biggest hit "Talk Back Trembling Lips".

Before he found fame as a singer, he worked in an Army missile plant in Alabama.

In the 1950s, he wrote songs that were recorded by country singers including Little Jimmy Dickens, Carl Smith, and Johnny Horton. His song "I Wish" was recorded by pop singer Paul Anka.

His 1963 number-one hit song "Talk Back Trembling Lips" was one of the first country songs to cross over to the pop charts. It spent 36 weeks on the country charts.

He died suddenly while in an ambulance on the way to hospital.
