Earnie Shavers (born August 31, 1945) is a retired professional American boxer. Shavers is considered by most boxing historians to be the hardest puncher of all time, having scored 68 KO's in 74 wins. He is most known for his world title fights with Muhammad Ali in 1977 and Larry Holmes in 1979. He managed to badly hurt Ali in round two of their fight, and scored a heavy knockdown over Holmes in round seven of their second fight. Shavers most notably defeated several top fighters such as Jimmy Ellis, Ken Norton and Joe Bugner. He boxed a total of 367 rounds in his professional career, with a 76.4% KO win ratio.Shavers retired from boxing in 1995. Since his retirement, he has released an autobiography called "Welcome to the Big Time". He currently resides in Warren, Ohio in the United States.
