Andrew Porter was born on August 26, 1928 in Cape Town, South Africa as Andrew Brian Porter. He was a writer, known for Intermezzo (1983), Live from Lincoln Center (1976) and Massenet: His Life and Music (2000). He died on April 3, 2015 in Chelsea, London, England.
As a teenager, he studied organ at University College, Oxford.
