Douglas Allen Woody (October 3, 1955 – August 25, 2000) was a bass guitarist best known for his tenure in the rock groups The Allman Brothers Band, Gov't Mule, The Artimus Pyle Band, The Peter Criss Band, Blue Floyd, and Montage.
Aside from the bass playing that made him famous, Allen played mandolin, dulcitar and guitar. He played many different kinds of basses, including both electric and acoustic, fretless, upright, four-string, five-string, six-string, ten-string and 18-string, as well as double-necked basses. He also wrote songs for Government Mule and The Allman Brothers Band.
