Anna Polony (born 21 January 1939 in Cracow) is a Polish theatre and film actress. Later into her career she has also been active as a theatre director.She studied acting in Pa?stwowa Wy?sza Szko?a Teatralna im. Ludwika Solskiego (The Ludwik Solski State Theatre School) in Cracow and graduated in 1960. Additionally she studied theatrical directing in the School and graduated in 1984.Polony's theatrical debut was Jerzy Kaliszewski's adaptation of Jean Giraudoux's play Wojny troja?skiej nie b?dzie (The Trojan War Will Not Take Place) in 1959 at the Stary Teatr in Cracow. She was engaged with the theatre from 1964 to 2002. She collaborated in several plays with a renown Polish director Konrad Swinarski.Her career has begun in 1974 when she directed William Gibson's Two for the Seesaw. Later she became one of the most prominent directors of the Old Theare.
