Seiji Mizushima (?? ??, Mizushima Seiji, born on January 28, 1966 in Fuch?, Tokyo) is a Japanese anime director. He has directed such series as Slayers Next, Shaman King, Fullmetal Alchemist, and more recently, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Un-Go, and Natsuiro Kiseki, an original series from Sunrise.
Attended two major anime conventions in the United States in 2005: Otakon in Baltimore, Maryland in August; and Pacific Media Expo in Long Beach, California in September. The two conventions marked the first time he has been able to meet and interact with his large U.S. fan base.

As of September 3rd, 2005 (the date of his Pacific Media Expo panel in Long Beach, California), he proclaims Alphonse Elric to be his favorite 'Fullmetal Alchemist' character. This is due largely to the fact that: "Just like Alphonse, I am the younger brother of my family."
3
So heavily influenced by friend and 'Evangelion' collaborator Hideaki Anno that while attending Pacific Media Expo in 2005, he told con-goers: "I would not be where I am today, if not for him."
