John Landis Bio/Wiki, Net Worth, Married 2018

John David Landis (born August 3, 1950) is an American film director, screenwriter, performer, and producer. He’s known for his comedy films, his horror movies, and his music videos with Michael Jackson. Trading Places, a Prince and the Pauper-design comedy starring Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy, was filmed right after the Twilight Zone accident. After filming finished, Landis and his family went to London. This picture was inspired by Hitchcock productions; Landis appeared in the movie as an Iranian hitman. His next movie, Spies Like Us, (starring co-writer Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase) was an homage to the Street to… pictures of Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Hope made a cameo in the Landis movie, impersonating himself. This is a satirical comedy film that parodies the experience of seeing low budget films on late night television. Landis next directed the Eddie Murphy movie, Coming to America, that was commercially successful. It was likewise the subject of Buchwald v. Paramount, a civil suit filed by Art Buchwald in 1990 against the movie’s producers. Buchwald asserted that the theory for the movie were stolen from a 1982 script that Paramount optioned from Buchwald. Buchwald won the breach of contract actions.[citation needed] In 1991 he directed Sylvester Stallone in Oscar, according to a Claude Magnier stage play. Oscar recreates a 1930 age movie, such as the gestures in addition to bit performances and with some slapstick, as an homage to old Hollywood movies. In 1992 Landis directed Innocent Blood, a horror-crime film. They’d previously worked together on Trading Places and Coming to America. In 1996 he directed The Stupids. He then returned to Universal to direct Blues Brothers 2000 in 1998 with John Goodman and, for the 3rd time in a Landis movie, Dan Aykroyd: during the exact same year, he directed Susan’s Plan. The four films didn’t score with critics and crowds. Burke and Hare premiered in 2010, Landis’s first theatrical release for more than a decade. In August 2011, Landis said he’d come back to terror and also would be composing a fresh movie. He was the executive producer on the comedy horror movie Some Guy Who Kills People.
