Kathleen Ryan was born on September 8, 1922 in Dublin, Ireland. She was an actress, known for The Sound of Fury (1950), Captain Boycott (1947) and Give Us This Day (1949). She was married to Dermod Devane. She died on November 11, 1985 in Dublin.
A celebrated beauty in her day, Ryan was the subject of Louis le Brocquy's portrait, 'Girl in White', painted in 1941 and entered in the RHA exhibition of that year. The portrait (oil on canvas) is in the Ulster Museum collection.
