Michael Medved (created October 3, 1948) is an American radio show host, writer, political commentator and movie critic. His Seattle-based nationally syndicated talk show, “The Michael Medved Show”, airs through the U.S. on Salem Radio Network. While focusing on the subject of Hollywood vs. America, radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh interviewed Medved and then requested Medved to guest host his talk show. Medved went to serve as a regular guest host for Limbaugh on close to 30 occasions. In 1996, Medved was offered his own local show on a leading Seattle radio station. In his 2005 autobiographical novel Right Turns: From Liberal Activist to Conservative Champion in 35 Unconventional Lessons, Medved says he welcomed the opportunity to escape “the film ghetto” and also to talk to some broader audience about politics and morality, which were a focus of his written comments and publications. For ten successive years, Medved has been recorded by Talkers magazine as among its “Heavy Hundred” most significant American talk show hosts, and recently tied for eighth place in its position of chat hosts by audience size

Why is the critical fraternity so liberal now? It didn't used to be. There used to be very conservative critics and they put out reviews from a specifically moralistic point of view. What's amazing to me was how that entire voice representing that third of America who consider themselves conservative is basically not represented other than by myself in the film-commentary business.
