Shaun Sewter (born February 17, 1965), is an American director in the field of stop-motion and visual effects. He is the recipient of several Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) awards for his commercial work. He is best known for claymation, stop motion and cutout works, and has also directed successful CG and digital graphics spots for television.Sewter was born in Peterborough, England. He studied and earned a degree in Fine Art before moving to London to work as a Director of Photography and animator. In 1991, he got the chance to work on Academy Award-winning film Manipulation, directed by Daniel Greaves. He moved to the United States in 1995 where he initially worked for Chelsea Pictures.In 1999, Sewter founded Moo Studios with his partner, David Lyons. At Moo, he directed several commercials for well-known brands such as Guinness., in a signature cut-out style, as well as Xbox, featuring painstaking claymation work.
