Retta Scott (23 February 1916 - 26 August 1990) was an American artist. She is notable as the first woman to receive screen credit as an animator at the Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Rhetta Scott is historically an important person because she was Disney's first female animator. She was hired because only she had the skills & talent to animate the vicious dogpack chase scene for 'Bambi.' The dogs needed to be frighteningly realistic. Marc Davis is quoted in his "The Making of Bambi" book that "no one matched her ability" in drawing animals from all angles.
