Pierluigi Collina Bio/Wiki, Net Worth, Married 2018
Pierluigi Collina (Italian pronunciation:[pjerluidi kollina]; produced 13 February 1960) is an Italian former soccer referee. He was widely considered the top referee of his generation, named FIFA’s “Greatest Referee of the Year” six successive times. He could be still involved with soccer as non-paid advisor to the Italian Football Referees Association (AIA), and is an associate of the UEFA Referees Committee.
The FIGC increased its compulsory retirement age to 46 so that you can adapt Collina for a further season. Nevertheless, a dispute emerged between the federation and Collina early in August 2005, following Collina’s determination to sign a significant sponsorship deal with Opel (also advertisements for Vauxhall Motors in the UK — both are possessed by General Motors). As Opel was also a patron of Serie A team A.C. Milan, the deal was viewed as a major conflict of interest and Collina was disbarred from refereeing top flight matches in Italy. In response, Collina given in his resignation, effectively ending his career. The Italian Referees Association subsequently tried to reject his resignation, however he persevered along with his retirement. He did, nevertheless, referee the Soccer Aid matches for charity in May 2006 and September 2008. During the latter of the matches, Collina was involved with an embarrassing autumn and was stretchered off after 21 minutes of play. He also refereed the initial half of the 2010 Soccer Aid match on June 6. Collina was among the referees that Moggi tried to have penalized for conclusions that Collina made against Juventus. Within an intercepted phone call, Moggi asserted that Collina and his co-worker Roberto Rosetti were overly “objective” and should be “penalized” for it. Because of this, he and Rosetti were two of the few referees staying unscathed in the scandal.
