Margit Symo was born on September 13, 1913 in Budapest, Austria-Hungary. She was an actress, known for Ali: Fear Eats the Soul (1974), Ich denke oft an Piroschka (1955) and The Stationmaster (1940). She was married to Willy Mattes. She died on October 6, 1992 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
Hungarian-born dancer and actress, trained in Budapest. First successes in her native country in stage revues and operettas. In Germany from the early 1930's. Performed at the Metropol Theater in Berlin as a dance team with her brother Michael. In films from 1934, usually as dancers, gypsies or exotic 'other women'. Married to the Austrian composer Willy Mattes whom she accompanied to Sweden in 1946. Divorced Mattes in 1951 and returned to Germany. Very sporadic appearances in small roles on screen, mostly for television, between 1954 and 1993.
