Peggy Van Praagh was born on September 1, 1910 in London, England as Margaret van Praagh. She is known for her work on Coppélia (1990), Cinderella (1958) and Table d'Hote (1939). She died on January 15, 1990 in Melbourne, Australia.
Ballet dancer from childhood onwards, and the first artistic director of the Australian Ballet after she moved there in 1959. She was awarded the O.B.E. (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 1966 Queen's Birthday Honors List and awarded Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 1970 in the Queen's Birthday Honors List for her services to Australian Ballet.
