Achieved a certain measure of fame in 1973 by his writing and recording of "The Americans, A Canadian Opinion" which praised the international efforts of the United States in the face of overwhelming world criticism at the time. His recording, backed by the stirring rendition of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic," was a huge success, with all proceeds from the sale going to the International Red Cross.
