Douglas Andrew Connell is a Scottish solicitor and Chairman of Museums Galleries Scotland which is the National Development Body for Scotland’s museums and galleries. Douglas Connell is Senior Partner of the private client law firm Turcan Connell and Chairman of Turcan Connell Asset Management Limited, specialising in trusts, asset protection and heritage property. His work in Charity Law includes the formation and governance of charities and advice to the Trustees of a number of major national institutions as well as private charitable foundations. He is a former chairman of the Recognition Committee of Museums Galleries Scotland, the Edinburgh Book Festival and the Lottery Committee of the Scottish Arts Council. Douglas has served as a board member of various arts organisations including the Scottish Arts Council, Artlink and the Edinburgh International Festival and is a patron of the National Galleries of Scotland and a patron of the National Museums of Scotland.
