David Bintley was born as David Julian Bintley. He is known for his work on 'Still Life' at the Penguin Cafe (1991), Championship Manager 2001/02 (2001) and Dancing in the Blitz: How World War 2 Made British Ballet (2014).
He was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2001 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to dance. Director of the Birmingham Royal Ballet.

He and his creative team were nominated for a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 2000 (1999 season) for Outstanding Achievement in Dance for the Birmingham Royal Ballet's Edward II at the Sadler's Wells Theatre.
