Crystal Lynn Bowersox (created August 4, 1985) is an American singer songwriter and performer, who had been the runner up on the ninth season of “American Idol”. She was the first female finalist in 3 years. Bowersox’s debut record, “Farmer’s Daughter”, premiered on December 14, 2010 by Jive Records. Bowersox released her second record, “All That for This”, on March 26, 2013.
She sang “Piece of My Heart.” Guest judge Shania Twain remarked that she had a “raw, natural ability.” On March 2, 2010, Bowersox was hospitalized due to complications from type 1 diabetes, driving a last minute substitution in scheduling to give her extra time to recuperate. Bowersox supported the sickness on the May 19, 2010 results demonstrate during an interview with host Ryan Seacrest. The guys competed that day as opposed to the girls. She sang another day and impressed all of the judges. The next week, her powerful operation prompted Simon Cowell to say, “at the moment, you’re the one everyone has to overcome.” After Siobhan Magnus’s removal in the top 6 of American Idol, Bowersox became the last remaining female contestant in the opposition. She’s also the primary contestant in American Idol history to own one of the original tunes played on the show, or at least during their hometown bundle.
