William "Bill" Oxley (birth registered October?December 1918 — 1985 (aged 66–67)) birth registered in Barrow-in-Furness district, Lancashire, was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1940s, and '50s, and rugby league administrator of the 1960s, '70s and '80s, playing at club level for Barrow (twice), Risedale Old Boys ARLFC, Rochdale Hornets (Captain), and Ulverston ARLFC [1]. World War II began four days after Bill Oxley had signed professionally for Barrow, he served with the Royal Horse Artillery in World War II for five years.
