Lee had made Bill her "lead man" on "Steel Magnolias" filming on location in Nachitoches, Louisanna in 1988. When Lee Poll accepted the Set Decorating position on "Murder She Wrote" she insisted on Bill being her assistant as co-set decorator, generously establishing his set decorating credentials.
