Pierce Turner was born in 1949 in Ireland. He is a composer and actor, known for The Other Guys (2010), Snakes and Ladders (1996) and The Song for the Year: With Pierce Turner (2008).
His mother owned a record shop, and led her own band.

Upon moving to New York, he formed Turner & Kirwan of Wexford, (later known as The Major Thinkers) with Larry Kirwan(now with Black47), a fellow Wexfordian.
