Sidney Michaels (August 17, 1927 – April 22, 2011) was an American playwright best known for the early and mid 1960s works Tchin-Tchin, Dylan, and Ben Franklin in Paris.
His father Max was a theater manager and burlesque-show producer in Boston.

After high school, he served in the Coast Guard, and studied drama at Tufts University.

Has been nominated for Broadway's Tony Award three times, three years in a row: as author of a Best Play nominee, in 1963 for "Tchin-Tchin" and in 1964 for "Dylan;" and as Best Author (Musical) for "Ben Franklin in Paris" in 1965.
