Ruth Sacks (b. 1977) is a South African artist who lives and works in Johannesburg. She is currently based at the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research (WiSER), where she is a doctoral fellow. She is one of the facilitators of the artist-run project space the Parking Gallery, hosted by the Visual Arts Network of South Africa (VANSA) in Johannesburg.
She got a degree in art education and did theater work for children as her husband was Virginia U law professor. She late got a masters degree in counseling and practiced till the 80s.

Her husband was president Kennedy's IRS commissioner. One of their sons is producer Lee Caplin.

Mortimer and Ruth Caplin donated $4 million last year for the building of Virginia's U "Ruth Caplin theater".
