Philippe de Rothschild was born on April 13, 1902 in Paris, France as Georges Philippe de Rothschild. He was a writer, known for Lady Chatterley's Lover (1955), La demoiselle et son revenant (1952) and V.I.P.-Schaukel (1971). He was married to Pauline Fairfax Potter and Élisabeth Pelletier de Chambure. He died on January 20, 1988 in Paris.
During World War II, he joined the Free French Forces, earning a Croix de Guerre medal.
