Lynn Nottage (born 1964) is an American playwright whose work often deals with the lives of women of African descent. She is an associate professor of theater at Columbia University and a lecturer in playwriting at Yale University.Nottage was born in Brooklyn and is a graduate of Brown University and the Yale School of Drama. She received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2005, and a MacArthur Grant in 2007. She won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2009 for Ruined.
Her play, "Ruined," at the Eclipse Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois was nominated for a 2015 Joseph Jefferson Non-Equity Award for Play Production.
