1At the age of 27 he was struck down with polio. He was in an iron lung for eighteen months before, paralysed from the neck down, spending the remainder of his life in a wheelchair. Ironically it was this which spurred him into his successful writing career.
2Harry formed a comedy double-act with future writing partner Vince Powell whilst working as a trainee manager with Marks and Spencer department stores by day.
