Harry Driver was born on May 13, 1931 in Manchester, England. He was a writer and producer, known for Coronation Street (1960), Love Thy Neighbour (1972) and Never Mind the Quality, Feel the Width (1967). He died on November 25, 1973.
At the age of 27 he was struck down with polio. He was in an iron lung for eighteen months before, paralysed from the neck down, spending the remainder of his life in a wheelchair. Ironically it was this which spurred him into his successful writing career.

Harry formed a comedy double-act with future writing partner Vince Powell whilst working as a trainee manager with Marks and Spencer department stores by day.
