Peter Butterworth Bio/Wiki, Net Worth, Married 2018
Peter William Shorrocks Butterworth (4 February 1919 – 16 January 1979) was an English comedy actor and comedian, best known for his appearances in the Carry On series of films. He was also a regular on children's television and radio and appeared in 2 early adventures of Doctor Who in 1965 as the Meddling Monk. He was married to the actress and impressionist Janet Brown.
While being held as a POW during the war, Peter played a part in the escape later filmed as The Wooden Horse (1950). After the war while pursuing his acting career, he auditioned for a part in the film without disclosing his part in the actual incident. He failed the audition as the producers felt he did not look heroic or dashing enough for the film.
