David Braben was born as David John Braben. He is a writer and producer, known for Elite (1984), Frontier: Elite II (1993) and Dog's Life (2003).
He was awarded the Fellowship in the Royal Academy of Engineering before being awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 2014 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the United Kingdom Computer and Video Games Industry. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Frontier Development PLC. He lives in Cambridgeshire, England.
