Alan Charles "Al" Jardine (born September 3, 1942) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is best known as a founding member of the rock band The Beach Boys, of whom he was a member from 1961 until 1962, again in 1963 until 1998, and lastly in 2012. A core member of the band, Jardine recorded twenty-five studio albums with The Beach Boys, and was the lead vocalist on a number of the band's songs, including, "Help Me, Rhonda", "Then I Kissed Her", "I Know There's an Answer" and "Lady Lynda". In 2010, Jardine released his debut solo studio album, "A Postcard from California".
