During her 2 1/2 year hiatus she had Jordan with former fiancé Erik Tribbet. Tribbet is a drummer from nearby Camden, New Jersey. Green & Tribbet are no longer in a relationship.

She was signed to Columbia Records in November 2001, and 1 year later on 12 November 2002 released her first album "A Love Story" (RIAA certified gold). It featured the hits "Emotional Rollercoaster", "Fanatic", and "What Is Love". After a 3 year hiatus, on 31 May 2005 she had hits "Gotta Go Gotta Leave (Tired)" and "Cursed" from her second album "Vivian".

Took an interest in singing, playing the piano, and songwriting at a very young age. At the age of thirteen she became a member of a female quintet called Younique. Green received her big break at the age of nineteen when she became a backing up singer for Jill Scott, who took her on an international tour.
