Vincent Philippe Antoine Candela (French pronunciation: [vɛ̃sɑ̃ kɑ̃dəˈla]; born 24 October 1973, is a former French footballer. With the French national team, Candela won the 1998 FIFA World Cup, as well as Euro 2000.Candela was a skilled right-footed left wingback, effective at joining the attack as well as being able in defence.On the club level, Candela played for Toulouse (1992–95), Guingamp (1995–97), A.S. Roma (1997–2005), Bolton Wanderers (2005), Udinese (2005–2006) and Siena (2006–2007). He won one scudetto with Roma.On 28 January 2007 he played his last Serie A match for Messina against Ascoli.For France, Candela was capped 40 times, scoring five goals. His playing time was often limited by Bixente Lizarazu, but he did play in one match during the 1998 triumph. During the winning Euro 2000 Candela did play two matches, both as a starter. He also played at the 1996 Olympic Games and the 2002 FIFA World Cup.Candela and his wife, Mara, welcomed their first child, Angelica, in April 2005.He was a dubbing actor in the Italian-language version of Shaolin Soccer.
He played for French clubs Toulouse FC 1992-1995 and En Avant Guingamp 1995-1997 and Italian club AS Roma 1997-2005. He joined English Premier League team Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer in January 2005 playing alongside the likes of Fernando Hierro, Ivan Campo and Jay-Jay Okocha in the Bolton team. He transferred the same year to Italian club Udinese.

Won World Champion and Europe Champion honours with the French soccer team in July 1998 and July 2000. He also played for France in the 2002 World Cup.
