Viktoria von Ballasko was born on January 24, 1909 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary. She was an actress and writer, known for Der Kaiser von Kalifornien (1936), Our Daily Bread (1949) and Teenage Wolfpack (1956). She was married to Curt Behrendt. She died on May 10, 1976 in Berlin, Germany.
Austrian leading lady of the 1930's and 40's, an officer's daughter. Trained at Vienna's Akademie für Darstellende Kunst and first acted on stage in Bern, Switzerland, in 1929. On screen, often typecast as devoted, long-suffering or self-sacrificing wives and daughters, very much in keeping with the prevailing national socialist ideals of femininity. Failed to rekindle her career in the aftermath of World War II, but was briefly active as a voice-over artist, including dubbing for Joan Fontaine in Hitchcokc's "Suspicion" (1941).
